Today on MYM360- Going from zero to financial freedom or how to get from point A to point B. I gave a talk about the steps to get from where your are now to financial freedom and it all begins with having a plan.

No actually it all begins with making up your mind that you really, really want to go there. I meet people all the time who talk about achieving financial freedom and having the ability to live life on their terms – to tell their boss to take their job and shove it – to travel to exotic places to spend more time with their family and on and on. But at the end of the day all boils down to just talk.

Then comes the excuses – I’m too busy making ends meet, taking care of stuff, or the one I really love from women (and sometimes men) my spouse or partner handles that or worse yet my financial advisor takes care of that. Really!

I hope that those explanations give you comfort but they don’t solve the problem – they don’t get you any closer to financial freedom – you know that place where you do tell your boss to take this job and shove it – the place where you have your travel agent on speed dial – the place where you are enjoying a making a real impact on your family and on and on.

So all of this brings me right back to the beginning, actually getting from point A to point B means that you have a real desire to get there – that you will do whatever it takes to make it happen – that you will take control of your money life and shape it so that it fits you – does your bidding instead of the other way around. Life is complicated but managing your money can start with a simple strategy and that’s deciding that you really, really want to go there.
